Etzel Engineer and Build, located just north of Pittsburgh, PA, is seeking a motivated individual with 3+ years experience in commercial construction as a Design Build/Commercial Project Engineer. We specialize in Design/Build Construction for Commercial, Healthcare, and Mission Critical facilities. This full-time, hourly position offers an immediate start, competitive compensation, a comprehensive health and benefits package, and excellent growth potential. • Develop and maintain submittal and delivery logs.
• Identify, review for compliance, mark-up, log, and submit shop drawings, catalog cuts, samples, and product data to the Owner/Architect for approval.
• Assist the Project Manager/Superintendent in developing construction schedules.
• Prepare Requests for Proposal (RFPs) and Change Orders for vendors or trade contractors.
• Collect necessary documentation for billing preparation to the Owner.
• File for required permits and follow through until issued.
• Prepare weekly and monthly reports on job progress.
• Prepare Operation and Maintenance Manuals upon project completion.
• Assist the Project Manager/Superintendent in preparing Punch Lists and coordinate responsibility until all work is satisfactorily completed.
• Attend Job Progress Meetings with Owners, trade contractors, and other field representatives as directed, and record meeting minutes.
• Handle special assignments and perform additional duties as directed by the Project Manager/Superintendent.

• 3+ years experience in commercial construction
• A four-year college degree or an associate degree in a construction-related field is a plus.
• Background, Data center, Communication, and/or Telecommunication highly preferred
• Ability to present a credible, confident, and positive image of oneself and the company during oral presentations to clients, subcontractors, and others.
• Experience in reading and interpreting plans and specifications.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills to interact with designers, subcontractors, and other personnel.
• Proficiency in various computer programs, including but not limited to Excel, Word, Microsoft Project, Adobe Acrobat, AutoCAD, and Sage 100.
