The Design Studio for Expressions Batiks is located in Denver, Colorado. We are looking for a Design Coordinator to join our team. The candidate will need to be able to assist varying aspects of design, in a satellite office setting. SOME of the schedule can be remote. The candidate will need to be able to work on coordinating all aspects of design, from inspiration and conception of the product, to coordination of sampling, to communication with graphics team, to launching each release. Guest Designers are brought in from around the country, so working with multiple levels of experience and differing design personalities is a must. Job description- Design Coordinator
Required skills:
- Post-secondary education in design/ art/ marketing/ communications
- Knowledge of Adobe Suite, Illustrator and Photoshop
- 2 years of related experience in either work or interests
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
- Positive attitude and ability to work independently and in a team environment
- Must have a good eye for trends, colour and detail
- Must be able to time-manage and multitask efficiently
- Works well under pressure
- Friendly disposition
- Organization—maintaining office organization
Bonus Skills:
- Knowledge of quilting industry is an asset
- Familiarity with batik design and production
- Sewing (interest in quilting/crafting)
- Skills in photography and photo editing
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Manage design library including color, inspiration pieces, strike offs and collections
- Work with Designers to coordinate release of collections and their individual POV
- Work with Project Designers, sending appropriate files, collecting designs, fabric requirements, and necessary pricing/bar codes etc for purchasing and website team
- Maintaining Excel spreadsheets for each release, tracking sales of each design, to update factories on presales, update design on ranking of collections
- International shipping schedule for strike offs and sampling
- Coordination of strike offs with Alpine and Guest Designers
- Create and organize Excel spreadsheets to support management team to evaluate sales of specific designs by color, collection, or motif
- Maintain schedule of each design and colorway in each collection
- Prepare digital files and maintain for coordination with factories
- Prepare color references for factories per collection
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and make recommendations, weekly meetings to discuss
