Job Purpose:
We are seeking a seasoned Design Director to execute on client branding for amazing clients. Successful candidates must be detail-driven, self-starters, critical thinkers and have the ability to manage multiple accounts and projects simultaneously.
Key Responsibilities:
- Participate in the process of ideation, concepting design and execution across disciplines.
- Ensure the creative brief is fully explored and the delivery of strategic direction is carried through concept to production.
- Translate client goals and information into strategic brand concepts, voice and approaches.
- Develop cohesive and persuasive rationales for creative approaches and confidently present design concepts and solutions to various audiences.
- Recommend improvements to creative function (i.e., software, methodologies and work processes).
- Effectively critique work of others and clearly articulate design direction.
- Be an example for creative team attitude, behavior and teamwork.
- Drive constant improvement in 50,000feet’s creative quality and capabilities.
- With the account lead, assure that all presentations are on time and deliver on the client’s objectives.
- Co-manage freelancers and vendors (i.e., project requirements, deliverables, budgets and schedules).
- Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Marketing, Business or Communications.
- Required to have 8 of relevant work experience in client services, marketing or agency roles.
- Required to have 2 years of management or mentorship of a small team or individual.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- High-caliber conceptual and design skills for print and digital brand engagements
- Thorough experience in translating concept across channels.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills: speaks clearly and persuasively, listens openly and gets clarification in a timely manner.
- Writes clearly and informatively; mindful of spelling and grammar; able to evaluate information.
- Good presentation skills; comfortable in a direct client-facing role.
- Understanding of the overall business strategy and consumer landscape of key clients.
- Thorough understanding of Art Direction.
- Excellent planning and time-management skills; ability to prioritize and plan individual work activities.
- Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness, setting an example for the creative team.
- Excellent knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud (at a minimum InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator).
- Knowledge and application of best practices in UI design.
- Strives to continuously build knowledge and leadership skills; shares expertise with others.
