About the Job
Title: Design Engineer
Location: Austin, TX (Onsite)
Duration: Full-time preferred, open to 6-month contract to conversion if necessary.
Must haves:
- B.S. or higher in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Electrical Engineering or equivalent work experience. (At least 2-4 years of Design Engineering experience if no degree)
- Proficient in 2D / 3D CAD software (SolidWorks Electrical is required). Autocad 3d design preferred, not required (can be taught)
- Design control systems utilizing NFPA, UL508A, SEMI S2/S8/S22, and CE specifications to comply with country-specific standards. (any experience with these will suffice)
- Experience using DFMEA as a tool to guide your design. (DFMEA stands for Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis. It is a structured, proactive approach to identify potential failure modes in a product design, assess their severity, and implement strategies to mitigate or eliminate those risks.)
- Needs UL experience.
Plusses:
- Proficiency with MS Word, MS Excel, and PowerPoint.
- End-to-end product development experience.
- Experience and knowledge of metal component fabrication preferred.
