Ideal Candidate:
- Education: Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university in mechanical engineering (proof required). Graduate education or professional certification preferred.
- Technical Proficiency: Experience or coursework in statistics and experiment design (DOE). Familiarity with SPC, robotic programming, latest technologies, and control systems. Training or experience with CAD, root cause analysis, corrective actions, and document control.
- Design and Development: Create new and alternative designs for plant equipment. Develop working drawings, specifications, and communicate these effectively to internal customers.
- Project Management: Oversee projects from conception through verification, ensuring they meet initial goals and deliver high-quality outcomes. Plan, schedule, estimate, and coordinate all aspects of the design projects.
- Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with internal teams to gather requirements, discuss equipment options, and provide technical assistance. Communicate project designs through correspondence, reports, and detailed drawings.
- Technical Expertise: Provide guidance on the proper use of designed/purchased equipment, assist in startup procedures, and help train co-workers in all aspects of the design process.
- Procurement and Vendor Management: Specify and procure equipment and materials from vendors. Develop working drawings or specifications for custom equipment as needed.
- Compliance and Safety: Adhere to company, quality, and environmental standards. Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal environmental regulations.
- Innovation and Improvement: Conduct feasibility studies and improve design processes to enhance operational efficiency.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from an accredited university (proof required).
- Strong technical skills and ability to perform drafting duties.
- Ability to learn.
