Position Overview:
Field Design Engineer is key to engineering, designing, and detailing site specifications to meet the needs of our customers. This position entails participation in design meetings, collaboration with various stakeholders, and ensuring that the technical aspects of our natural turf installation projects align with project specifications.

Key Activities:
- Engineer high-profile natural grass turf systems.
- Design of site improvements including but not limited to; grading, drainage, storm sewer, water, irrigation and coordination of other related utilities involved with sports field.
- Participate in design meetings to assist in the development of customized natural grass fields.
- Design drawings tailored to project build sites and customer requirements.
- Produce detailed supporting documentation for project specifications.
- Coordinate with architects, engineers, and designers throughout project execution.
- Support the enhancement of athletic field systems.
- Lead the project design and planning for various civil engineering activities.
- Perform routine engineering design calculations and prepare specifications and contract documents.
- Review data received from senior technical staff and analyze compliance with standards and design concepts.
- Assist with layouts, design concepts, and detailed drawings ensuring compliance with industry standards and codes.
- Lead coordination process ensuring compliance with design requirements and quality standards.
- Conduct regular project walkthroughs to ensure adherence to contract documents and approved submittals.
- Manage and secure all municipal and agency documentation required for project operations.
- Develop information for use in operations and pre-construction teams.
- Facilitate coordination meetings and assist design partners.
- Support Pre-Construction and Estimating with conceptual renderings for design-build projects.
- Create detailed models to aid project teams in visualization, clash detection, and coordination.
- Assist with efforts between design partners, subcontractors, and project management.
- Stay updated on industry VDC/technology trends.
- Assist Pre-Construction teams in evaluating work costs.
- Develop specifications for subcontractors as required.
Skills Required:
- Ability to work effectively both independently and in a team environment.
- Extensive experience with 3D model development and design software.
- Proficiency in Civil3D and other relevant Autodesk and Bentley products.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work under tight deadlines and prioritize tasks.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Leadership abilities and willingness to mentor junior team members.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
Professional Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
- Licensed Professional Engineer with 5-8 years of design experience.
- Professional Certification preferred: EIT, OSHA 30, CESSWI.
- Minimum Experience: 5+ years in construction or related industry.
- Valid Driver’s License Required.
