Position Summary
The purpose of this position is to provide engineering to support the overall design and development of innovative commercial fenestration products. In addition to design engineering, this hire will manage AAMA field testing as well. Overall core to product development for commercial windows and doors.
Essential Functions and Key Responsibilities
- Prepares preliminary engineering review reports for development of innovative products
- Determines strategy from design to window production implementation
- Applications engineering and improvements to existing product lines
- Leads the production of or produces CAD drawings of all details from conception to commercialization
- Communicates with others in the organization and customers to jointly determine solutions.
- Calculations and engineering data acquisition
- Prototype builds and 3D modeling
- Assists with the development of product design and functionality.
Qualifications and Skill Requirements
- Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university in mechanical or manufacturing engineering
- Proven experience with Fenestration design (windows, curtainwall, storefront, doors, glass)
- Commercial products – must have
- 3D Modeling, BIM, Revit – plus to have
