About the Job
Ensure sound design concepts, uses standard design procedures to simplify checking of assembly and detail drawings. Effectively uses resources to bring about and to improve the manufacture of a consistent level of quality products at the lowest achievable cost.
Responsibilities:- Modify existing drawings as needed and/or directed by Engineering staff.
- Track drawing modifications.
- File design calculations and analyses for future reference.
- Participate in the development of engineering estimates for project and/or study proposals.
- Prepare specifications that are consistent with engineering principles.
- Provide RFQ packages, technical bid analysis and drawing and document reviews during the project detail design phase.
- Evaluate bid proposals and verify loop and logic diagrams.
- Monitor activities to meet project schedule and budget.
- Participate in the commissioning phase of the projects.
- Advise the Engineering Manager regarding significant technical, scheduling or cost problems so that timely corrective action can be taken.
- Attend Project Team meetings.
- Create drawings, specifications and /or documents prepared under supervision.
- Demonstrate a positive attitude, ethical conduct, and excellent communications.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum of 2 years design engineering experience in bulk material handling or a similar industry.
• Knowledge and experience in the design and operation of vibratory feeding, screw conveyors, bucket elevators, underground terminal equipment or belt conveyor idlers; candidates with screw conveyor or bucket elevator experience preferred.
• Intermediate-Expert level Solidworks or similar software; experience with AutoCad.
• Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes such as machining, welding, and assembly.
• Knowledge and experience using FEA software.
• Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to analyze, diagnose, and implement corrections to equipment operation issues; ability to read, interpret and prepare applicable technical information and suggest design/process changes.
• Demonstrated capability for conceptualizing designs.
• Self-starter requiring minimum supervision.
• Ability to communicate effectively both written and orally; demonstrated good organization skills.
