We are looking for a dedicated Design Project Manager to join our talented team at our office located in Somerset, New Jersey.
In this role, you will provide leadership on assigned projects and act to achieve financial, schedule, and client relationship objectives. Additionally, you will plan and organize all engineering functions specific to the project, coordinate client interaction between the project team and client, and provide guidance on recommended manpower and technical resource loading. Project Size: Less than $5MM.
What You'll Do
- Hold primary responsibility for the achievement of scope, cost, schedule, and quality objectives on assigned projects.
- Ensure achievement of corporate goals for assigned projects.
- Attend pre-bid meetings with clients and prepare proposals in conjunction with department heads, directors, and other key individuals.
- Actively assists in Design budget development.
- Manage client interaction on assigned projects and promote positive relationships.
- Identify risks to projects and the corporation, and work with Project Executives and the Director of Operations to mitigate risks.
- Project scope control and development/communication of all change notices to the client.
- Coordinate with project discipline leads to determine the scope, complexity, and planning and scheduling requirements of the projects.
- Develop and maintain a Project Execution Plan.
- Prepare internal monthly financial/schedule reports for the Director of Operations for each project.
- Prepare monthly financial/schedule reports for the Client as requested by the client.
- Enhance and facilitate project team communication and coordination.
- Manage all sub-consultants on the project.
- Assist in identifying, and developing innovative methods for improving project management processes and techniques against current SOPs.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to project engineers.
- Accept responsibility for things under direct control.
- Sees things going wrong and corrects them before problems arise.
- Identify areas of potential Innovation and improvement for the group.
- May work with the Senior Project Managers or Directors on a larger project.

Qualifications & Requirements:- 5+ years of industry experience at least two of which include Project Management experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, architecture, or planning.
- Fundamental level of scheduling skills.
- Skilled in the use of IT tools, including spreadsheets, word processing, planning, and scheduling software.
- Understanding of Earned Value and other project controls methods.
- Promotes Safety and adheres to IPS and client Safety policies.
- Has the ability to run multiple simultaneous small projects.

- Travel duration, if any, is based on project complexity and location.
This position is a safety-sensitive position. The employee is designated for field work and attends activities at client sites where they work in construction, process, packaging, manufacturing, research, or other "non-administrative" areas.
