As the Design Release Engineer (Body Structure + Chassis), you will be responsible for:
• Designing the chassis and body structures using CAD tools.
• Focusing on stamped and casted parts related to the chassis development.
• Evaluate static, dynamic, structural, and thermal-mechanical performances of mechanical assemblies.
• Responsible for component testing and characterization, including developing innovative test methods and data analysis.
• Collaborate with suppliers to manage designs, design documents, execute engineering disciplines, and ensure component deliveries.
• Work with various teams for manufacturing, assembly, and operation.
Qualifications:
• 7+ years of mechanical design experience with at least 3-4 years of chassis or body structure experience included.
• Proficiency in design using CAD tools such as CATIA V6 or CATIA V5 and experience with 2D drawings, including GD&T.
• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering (Master's or PhD is a plus).
• Experience in vehicle engineering, chassis systems design, and component delivery.
• Understanding of hydraulic systems, sealing systems, electrical systems, and system architecture.
• Strong communication skills with peers, management, manufacturing, and suppliers.
• Knowledge of automotive program development/release process and long-term schedule planning.
Salary Range: $120,000 - $130,000
The actual salary offered is dependent on various factors including, but not limited to, location, the candidate's combination of job-related knowledge, qualifications, skills, education, training, and experience.
