SUMMARY
Provides nursing assistance, personal care, and appointment transports to clients Pace clients under the direction of the Palm Beach PACE Center Manager.
PRIMARY FUNCTIONS
- Client Care: Listening and responding to concerns and questions. Completing all necessary and appropriate care, including toileting, vital signs, repositioning, transferring, bathing & dressing. Reporting all concerns and changes to appropriate nursing staff.
- Transport of client: Involves transporting Pace Participants to/from Specialty Appointments in Pace Designated vehicle, or with the use of personal vehicle. Transport will include, but is not limited to, need to assist with personal care, transfers, and supervision throughout the duration of the appointment.
- Nutrition of Client: Involves assisting residents by providing them with all their nutritional needs.
- Professionalism: Involves maintaining a neat and clean appearance, the willingness to learn new concepts, accepting accountability for job performance, the ability to manage time effectively, and promoting compassion and understanding for the clients’ needs/wants.
- Attendance and Punctuality: Involves coming to work when assigned, checking the time card, checking the schedule and reporting for the assignment in a timely manner.
- Safety for Self and Residents: Involves personal safety in all work, being alert, and watching out for the safety of the client.
- Communications and Customer Service: Involves speaking with client, families and staff; with tact, diplomacy, and strong listening skills.
- Documentation: Completing required documentation after the completion of care. Filing in the chart as required.
- Activities: Assisting client with appropriate activities. Performing other duties as assigned. Follow infection control guidelines per policies and procedures.
- Organization: Completion of care in a timely manner.
- Continuing Education: Involves participating in all mandatory in services, and compliance with State of Florida Board of Nursing continuing education for the Certified Nursing Assistant.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.
QUALIFICATIONS (EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE)
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); with 1 year of CNA experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Certified Nursing Assistant License and/or Home Health Aide certificate issued by the State of Florida
High School Diploma or equivalent, preferred
Valid Driver’s License

Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles and toxic or caustic chemicals. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, risk of electrical shock, and risk of radiation. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
