We’re hiring: Designated Safety Representative
Cummings has grown this year by adding 300 committed new hires to our family... and the number is growing! We support our services, construction, and manufacturing businesses by hiring electricians, project managers, service account managers, engineers, estimators, and designers, among others. As a Designated Safety Representative, you will be an integral part of the organization. As the Designated Safety Representative (DSR), you will be responsible for supporting, monitoring and inspecting the health and safety activities of the work being performed on assigned out-of-town projects to ensure compliance with the Health and Safety Programs of Cummings Electrical, the contractor, the customer and all local, State or Federal regulations.
Responsibilities:Bring your passion, here's what’s needed:
- Assist with overall SSSP execution, including but not limited to field supervision, training, safety administration, case/care management and safety coordination.
- Learn and understand the health and safety procedures and requirements as established by Cummings Electrical and the project.
- Advise Cummings Electrical Lead ’s Project team, employees, and subcontractors in safe work practices needed to comply with company safety procedures, project requirements, and local, state, and federal regulations.
- Routinely inspect the project for safety violations and stop any unsafe work practices/conditions.
- Report all safety incidents and near-misses to Project Manager, Cummings Electrical Safety Department, and contractor within 24 hours of occurrence, unless otherwise specified by the project.
- 3 years of construction safety experience
- Minimum OSHA 510 and First Aid/CPR Certifications
- Narcan and Bloodborne Pathogens Training
- BCSP Certification (Safety Trained Supervisor (STS-C) or higher)
- Willing to travel to out-of-town projects with per diem
- Willing to work overtime and weekends, if needed
Not required, but nice to have:
- NFPA 70E and LOTO

Compensation $25 - $30 hourly (Compensation will commensurate with experience)
