About the Job
Key Responsibilities:
- Desktop Support:
- Provide on-site and remote support for Windows-based desktops and laptops.
- Diagnose and resolve hardware and software issues promptly and effectively.
- Install, configure, and update operating systems, applications, and drivers.
- Manage user accounts, permissions, and passwords in Active Directory.
- Assist with onboarding and offboarding processes, including setting up new workstations and decommissioning old ones.
- SysOp Functions (i.e., Network & Server):
- Assist with monthly server patching and updates.
- Support basic server maintenance tasks under the guidance of senior sysadmins.
- Minimize downtime of network and ensure a seamless network environment for employees.
- Customer Service:
- Provide outstanding customer service and technical support to internal users.
- Document issues and resolutions in the IT ticketing system.
- Communicate effectively with users to understand their needs and provide timely solutions.
- Collaboration and Growth:
- Collaborate with the IT team to identify and implement improvements to the IT environment.
- Participate in training and professional development to enhance your technical skills.
- Demonstrate a willingness to take on additional responsibilities and grow within the sysadmin role.
Qualifications:
- Education and Experience:
- Associate's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- 1-3 years of experience in desktop support or a related IT role.
- Familiarity with Windows operating systems, including Windows 11 and Windows Server.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficient in troubleshooting hardware and software issues.
- Experience with Active Directory, MS Office Suite, and common business applications.
- Basic understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP).
- Soft Skills:
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with server patching and basic system administration.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, Network+, Microsoft Certified Professional) are a plus.
