Position Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated Systems Support Technician to join our IT team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for setting up and configuring hardware components, ensuring systems operate smoothly and efficiently. This role involves performing hardware modifications and upgrades as required, maintaining an inventory of equipment, and documenting procedures. Additionally, the technician will compile comprehensive monthly technical reports to track system performance and identify areas for improvement. Collaboration with the IT Help Desk team is essential, providing support and assistance to resolve technical issues promptly. The successful applicant will have a strong understanding of computer hardware, be detail-oriented, and possess excellent problem-solving skills. The ideal candidate will be responsible for setting up and configuring PCs, performing changes, and ensuring the smooth operation of computer systems. Additionally, the technician will be tasked with generating comprehensive monthly technical reports and providing support to the IT Help Desk team as required.
Responsibilities:
• Install, configure, and maintain hardware systems, including computers, printers, and other related equipment
• Diagnose and resolve hardware and software issues in a timely and accurate manner
• Prepare detailed monthly reports on hardware status, system updates, and any changes made to the setup
• Provide backup support to the IT Help Desk, including fielding calls, troubleshooting user issues, and escalating problems when necessary
• Maintain an inventory of hardware and supplies, placing orders as needed to avoid operational delays
• Stay current with technological developments and trends in the field of system support
• On-site hardware support/assistance
• Operational Excellence: Actively participate in continuous improvement initiatives, consistently working towards the achievement of individual and team goals.
• Additional Duties: Perform all other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
• Associate or bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field
• Proven experience as a Systems Support Technician or similar role
• Strong knowledge of computer hardware systems and various operating systems
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Ability to communicate technical information to non-technical users
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
• A customer-focused approach and excellent interpersonal skills
