Desktop Support Technician - TEKsystems

Position: Desktop Support Technician (Long-term

Contract)

Overview: We are seeking a skilled Desktop Support Technician to join our team on a long-term contract basis. This

role involves handling escalations from the Tier 1 helpdesk team, assisting

with onboarding and offboarding processes using Active Directory, and

collaborating with various teams including the NOC and User Administration

teams.

Key Responsibilities:

• Escalation Management: Handle escalations from the Tier 1 helpdesk team, ensuring timely and effective resolution of complex technical issues.
• Onboarding/Offboarding: Assist with the onboarding and offboarding of employees, including setting up and deactivating accounts in Active Directory.
• Collaboration: Work closely with the NOC and User Administration teams to ensure seamless IT operations and user support.
• On-site and Remote Support: Provide on-site support at the office, with occasional travel to the Madison, WI office. Most issues can be resolved remotely, but some hardware support responsibilities will require on-site presence.
• Hardware Support: Troubleshoot and resolve hardware issues, including desktops, laptops, printers, and other peripherals.
• Software Support: Provide support for software applications, including Windows 10, Office 365, and other enterprise applications.
• Imaging and Deployment: Manage the imaging and deployment of new hardware and software, ensuring all systems are up-to-date and properly configured.
• Automation and Scripting: Utilize automation tools and scripting to streamline processes and improve efficiency.

Required Skills:

• Desktop Support: 2+ years of white glove desktop support experience, providing high-quality service to end-users.
• Windows 10: Proficient in troubleshooting and resolving Windows 10 issues.
• Active Directory: Experience with onboarding and termination processes, including account setup and deactivation.
• Technical Support: Strong experience in technical support, including imaging, deployment, Office 365, hardware, printers, Intune, automation, and scripting.
• Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users.
• Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and resolve issues efficiently.
• Customer Service: A customer-focused approach, with a commitment to providing exceptional service and support.

Additional Information: This position requires

on-site presence with occasional travel to our Madison, WI office. Most issues

can be resolved remotely, but hardware support responsibilities are also part

of the role. The ideal candidate will be proactive, detail-oriented, and able

to work independently as well as part of a team.
