This is a part-time, in-house role with Travel Medford, a department of The Chamber of Medford & Jackson County, serving as the official destination management organization for the City of Medford.
Position Overview
The Destination Support Coordinator will assist in the execution of various projects that align with Travel Medford’s five strategic pillars: tourism promotion, visitor services, event promotion, destination development, and organizational sustainability. The goal is to promote Medford as a premier travel destination and increase overnight visits.
The role includes daily operational tasks, project support across departments, communication with stakeholder groups, and acting as an event steward, managing a robust event calendar and coordinating with vendors. This position reports to the Senior Vice President and works closely with team members across the organization.

This position reports to the Senior Vice President and works closely with team members across the organization.
Responsibilities
Destination Support
- Assist with projects across Travel Medford departments, including marketing, sports tourism, events, and visitor services.
- Maintain communication with hospitality businesses and organizations within the Rogue Valley to promote Medford and increase overnight stays.
- Keep accurate records of all projects and programs.
- Oversee and maintain the event calendar by researching, compiling, and inputting events for the website, newsletters, and publications.
- Source and manage vendors for Travel Medford events and assist the Chief Marketing Officer with event logistics.
- Plan and organize meetings by managing schedules, meeting minutes, agendas, packets, and communications. Coordinate meeting locations for key groups, including:
- Travel Medford Tourism Council
- Medford hotelier group
- Southern Oregon Sports Commission
- Maintain the digital asset library and keep files organized.
- Handle website maintenance by updating webpages, accounts, and extracting relevant data.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and special reports as needed.
- Support administrative tasks including billing updates, invoicing, and receipt tracking.
- Provide customer service by responding to visitor inquiries via phone and email. Act as a backup at the Visitor Information Center front desk.
- Assist with logistics for the brand wear retail program, including order fulfillment, inventory management, and merchandise storage.
- Represent Travel Medford at forums, conventions, workshops, and local events to stay informed on industry changes.
- Attend relevant staff meetings and participate in stakeholder meetings as needed.
- Familiarity with Medford and the Rogue Valley region is a plus.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Highly organized with the ability to multitask and prioritize.
- A team-first mentality with the ability to work both collaboratively and independently to meet deadlines.
- Willingness to travel for events and professional development opportunities.
- Experience with Microsoft Office and Google products.
- Open to learning and growth within the role.
- Availability to work some nights and weekends for special events (limited occasions)
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
- Ability to pass a background check and drug test.
- 1-2 years of relevant work experience.
- Must be able to travel and operate a motor vehicle.
- Ability to lift up to 35 lbs.
- Must be able to sit, stand, and walk throughout the workday.
- Pay: $19-$21 per hour for 20-24 hours per week
- Schedule: Monday to Thursday, 9 AM - 2 or 3 PM, depending on availability.
- Occasional evenings or weekends required for special events, but this will only be a handful of times per year.
- Start Date: November 18.
