About the Job
Teach courses in computer science. May specialize in a field of computer science, such as the design and function of computers or operations and research analysis.
Job Requirements:
- Core - Evaluate and grade students' class work, laboratory work, assignments, and papers.
- Core - Maintain student attendance records, grades, and other required records.
- Core - Prepare and deliver lectures to undergraduate and/or graduate students on topics such as programming, data structures, and software design.
- Core - Prepare course materials such as syllabi, homework assignments, and handouts.
- Core - Compile, administer, and grade examinations, or assign this work to others.
- Core - Keep abreast of developments in their field by reading current literature, talking with colleagues, and participating in professional conferences.
- Core - Initiate, facilitate, and moderate classroom discussions.
- Core - Plan, evaluate, and revise curricula, course content, and course materials and methods of instruction.
- Core - Supervise students' laboratory work.
- Core - Maintain regularly scheduled office hours in order to advise and assist students.
- Core - Select and obtain materials and supplies such as textbooks and laboratory equipment.
- Core - Advise students on academic and vocational curricula, and on career issues.
- Core - Participate in student recruitment, registration, and placement activities.
- Core - Collaborate with colleagues to address teaching and research issues.
