Job Title: Developer III
Position Notes:
- Partially onsite - Candidate must be willing to come onsite at least quarterly and as needed - If candidates are local to Columbia, SC they will be expected to come onsite weekly
- All candidates must be willing to come onsite for orientation and training for a few days in the beginning.
- The manager will also consider remote candidates, but they still need to be willing to come onsite for training / orientation the first week (They can expense their travels).
- We are looking for more of a Front-end Developer.
- Strongly prefers someone that has experience writing web services or web API’s.
- Strongly prefers either AEM or open shift or container or AWS.

Preferred skills:
- Jenkins (pipeline to get code into production)
Daily responsibilities:
- Analysis, design, development, and implementation for our web/mobile applications. Provide technical direction and support along with debugging and testing of our web and mobile applications.
Department description:
- The Commercial Web Team provides development and support for external facing non-government applications including My Health Toolkit Member/Employer, My Insurance Manager, My Business Manager and www.southcarolinablues.com. Our team partners with the customers and I/S peers daily to pioneer continual growth and development of our applications. We power the business by providing innovative, effective, and ever evolving solutions for our customers.
Duties:
- Perform all phases of applications systems analysis and design.
- Analyze systems specifications and develop applications to support information systems processes.
- Prepare detailed specifications from which complex programs will be written.
- Design, code, test, debug, document and maintain these programs. Formulates scope and objectives through research to develop or modify complex systems.
- 20% Ensure team members understand the business requirements that drive the analysis and design of quality technical solutions, organizational standards are maintained, and applications are delivered according to project timeliness. Provide expert system knowledge, perform research, attend meetings, and review documents.
- 20% Maintain and modify programs according to specifications. Code, compile, and implement application software that is delivered on time and within budget. Evaluate basic interrelationships in immediate programming area to determine how changes in one program will affect another related area.
- 20% Test modified programs, create necessary test files and data, verify logic, debug, and write relevant documentation.
- 20% Analyze production systems, recommend systems enhancements, provide instruction to production support team. Research customer issues and determine appropriate resolutions. Coordinate implementation of modifications or enhancements.
- 20% Analyze and evaluate existing or proposed systems. Develop functional design and technical specifications, concept diagrams, and workflow diagrams and related procedures to process data using appropriate systems environment/platform. Document programs/procedures.
Minimum Required Skills and Abilities:
- Minimum Required Education: Bachelor's degree-in Computer Science, Information Technology or other job-related degree.
- Degree Equivalency: 4 years of job-related work experience OR 2 years of job-related experience plus an associate’s degree in computer science, Information Technology or other job-related degree.
- Minimum Required Work Experience: 4 years-of application development, systems testing or other job-related experience.
- Strong understanding of applications/development, quality assurance and integration methodologies, concepts and facilities in a mainframe, midrange, and/or PC/LAN environment.
- Strong analysis, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
- Demonstrates logical abstract thinking and assimilating/adhering to project goals and deadlines.
- Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
- Able to work well under pressure and as part of a team.
- Strong knowledge of interpersonal skills/team building.
- Familiar with project management concepts. Pays attention to detail.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, clients, vendors etc.
- Minimum Required Software and Other Tools: Strong knowledge of relevant operating systems, programming languages, and development tools and their usage in the company.
- Work Environment: Customer-focused, project-oriented programming environment.
- Fast paced, multi-platformed environment which may require action and response 24X7 to support the technical business needs of the customer.
This is the pay range that Magnit reasonably expects to pay someone for this position is $37.24/hour - $49.66/hour. Benefits: Medical, Dental, Vision, 401K (provided minimum eligibility hours are met).
