Rye Country Day School is seeking a Development Coordinator beginning (September 2024). Job Summary: We are seeking a diligent and organized Development Coordinator to join our Advancement team. The ideal candidate will provide crucial administrative support to ensure the smooth operation of fundraising and development activities. The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented individual who can handle multiple tasks efficiently and maintain a professional demeanor while interacting with donors, faculty, staff, and students.
Specific responsibilities of the position include:
- Administrative Support: Assist in the day-to-day operations of the Advancement Office, including scheduling meetings, managing calendars, taking notes at meetings, and handling correspondence. Act as the front-line representative for the Development Office on the phone and in person.
- Database Management: Assist in maintaining donor and alumni databases, ensuring accurate and up-to-date records.
- Event Coordination: Support the planning and execution of fundraising events and donor cultivation activities, including invites and logistics, RSVP tracking, interdepartmental coordination, and on-site support.
- Communications: Draft, proofread, and edit communications such as thank-you letters and newsletters for donors and alumni. Assist as necessary in the mailing of solicitations, pledge reminders, acknowledgement letters, receipts, notes
- Office Operations: Maintain office supplies, manage incoming inquiries, and assist with other administrative tasks as assigned.
- Other duties as assigned
Desired qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree required
- Minimum of three years of professional experience in an office setting
- Appreciation of and/or commitment to education and the independent school world; a willingness to become involved in the life of the school
- Strong command of database and office technology tools including:
- Microsoft suite, G-suite, etc.
- Raiser’s Edge experience; strongly preferred
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal), with the ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders.
- Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
- Professionalism; a strong understanding of client/customer service
- Warm and welcoming demeanor as well as a sense of humor
- Keen problem-solving skills and ability to act independently in situations that require initiative, diplomacy, and tact
- Discretion in handling confidential information
- Flexibility to work some evening and weekend events; required
- The position requires some travel and light physical activity.
