Job Description Summary
South Shore Hospital, Southeastern Massachusetts's leading provider of emergency, acute, and outpatient care, is seeking a Development Officer, Events to join our Foundation team. This position is based out of the Foundation office in Rockland, MA; a hybrid work schedule is permitted. Reporting to the Director of Development, Special Events, this position is an integral member of the Events team within the Foundation and will be responsible for overseeing and leading event-related activities.
Job Description
Job Responsibilities:
Manage South Shore Health’s Pan-Mass Challenge team, which includes;
Stewarding current team members with relationships
Creating and implementing all communications, including mass market emails and social media plans and fundraising strategies
Recruiting and strategizing new cyclists with marketing ideas
Executing all events associated with the program
Manage Colleague Campaign, an internal employee giving program, which includes;
Managing colleague internal champions, developing and executing marketing plan strategies
Making annual presentations to Managers and Directors, as well as Department team meetings, on annual giving; providing presentations to new colleagues during Orientation
Stewarding Colleague Campaign donors of all levels within Health System
Maintaining donor lists and donor recognition programs
Managing logistics of the program including but not limited to; brochure implementation, budget planning, recruiting colleague champions, and volunteer stewardship
Responsible for overseeing third-party special events with community members, which includes;
Developing marketing strategies to increase third-party events
Developing stewardship plans for current community members involved with the program
Actively managing all responsibilities involved with community events
Managing Just Giving, SSH’s platform for third-party donors
Oversee the silent and live auctions for South Shore Health’s annual fundraising gala. This includes:
Work with volunteer committee members
Soliciting, gathering and tracking donations as well as ensuring that they are promptly acknowledged by SSH
Preparing auction space and materials and serving as key event point on the evening of the Gala
Ensuring auction items are delivered to winners in a timely manner
Helps manage Blackbaud’s Convio Teamraiser for all Lace Up for Cancer-related needs, and serves as the key point for customer service. Supports and manages walk-related team fundraising initiatives including; team captain weeks and internal events.
Manages the Luminate email marketing program for all mass market events which includes; creating and sending emails in support of events.
Recruit, train, motivate and coordinate event volunteers, interns and temporary staff to advance Foundation activities.
Assist with other smaller events / high capacity donor dinners as needed in advance of a capital campaign.
Qualifications:
Bachelors degree required
5+ years of professional fundraising/development experience in a healthcare, higher education, or grassroots/non-profit environment
Skills & Abilities:
Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
Must be able to anticipate and meet deadlines and defined goals
Multitasking and prioritization skills
Ability to work independently, but also as part of a team
Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word, required
Familiarity with Blackbaud’s Raiser’s Edge and Convio software preferred
