Position Summary:
Moraine Park Technical College is seeking a full-time Development Officer-College Advancement on our Fond du Lac Campus. The Development Officer secures resources to support the Moraine Park Foundation/Office of College Advancement’s mission of making education accessible and affordable for Moraine Park students. This position identifies and cultivates relationships with donor prospects, develops and implements fundraising plans, and works collaboratively with team members to further the mission of the Foundation. This position requires significant travel (local and occasionally out of state), and at times work in the evenings and weekends.
The successful candidate will have a minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Business, Nonprofit Management or a related field. We are also requiring a minimum of five years successful, demonstrated experience in relationship fundraising, preferably in higher education, or significant comparable work in sales or other client-management professions. Our ideal candidate will have a proven track record of strategically cultivating and advancing donor relationships and success in planning and implementing fundraising and stewardship events and activities.

Responsibilities:
• Develop and actively manage the cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship strategies for a portfolio of mid-level and major donors for the purpose of increasing resources to support Moraine Park students. • Meet or exceed annual performance goals and expectations, including: number of personal visits. number of gifts solicited and received; dollar amounts solicited and received; number of new major-gift prospects visited and qualified.• Track and report relationship management activity using Raisers Edge® constituent relationship management System, including identification, qualification, cultivation, solicitation, proposal submission and stewardship of prospective and current individual major donors; assist with review and verification of major gift donor recognition lists.• Maintain knowledge of current tax laws, investments and planned giving opportunities; use knowledge in prospect cultivation and solicitation as appropriate.• Monitor and evaluate fundraising and program effectiveness and make recommendations for continued development and improvement. • Plan and implement events and activities, stewardship events, tours, receptions, friend-raisers, etc.) for individual donors, using existing activities as appropriate; engage in networking activities or other opportunities to generate potential prospects for cultivation.• Cultivate and expand planned giving opportunities with new and existing donors, and integrate planned gift objectives into major individual donor requests.• Development and implement an alumni engagement plan to include communications (working collaboratively with Marketing), solicitations and events.
Experience & Qualifications (in addition to education and experience mentioned above):
• Knowledge of fundraising and donor management software, and general software applications, including Microsoft Office 365 (Office Suite, Teams, SharePoint, etc.).• Must possess strong written, oral and presentation communication skills, and have experience in developing clear and concise funding proposals.• Must have a demonstrated ability to meet financial goals with a proven track record of cultivating and securing significant gifts, and successful experience in prospecting, as well as developing cultivation and solicitation strategies.• Individual must be able to think strategically and creatively, and must have excellent interpersonal skills and a demonstrated record of completing assignments, multi-tasking, meeting deadlines, and working with minimal supervision.• Attention to detail and strong project management skills, ability to work as part of a team and professional attitude and appearance are required.• Strong organizational and time management skills, including the ability to prioritize special projects with routine assignments.
Hiring Range: $68,494-$85,617
