Program Description
The Development Department works to secure public and private funding, support Felton’s Division and Program leads with fundraising and relationship-building efforts and develop partnerships and collaborations that support the agency's short—and long-term strategic goals. These functions help ensure Felton has the resources to continue its mission.
Job Description
Felton’s Development Writer will collaborate with other team members and program personnel to respond to City, County, State, and Federal direct service contracts and public/private and corporate grant opportunities. This role will prepare Requests for Proposals, Requests for Information, and Requests for Qualifications (RFP, RFI, and RFQs), create content, organize content from others, and create/inform any required supportive documentation (job descriptions, letters of support, resumes, logic models, budgets) for each proposal. Additionally, the role supports the team by monitoring and tracing task completion and grant disposition (awarded, declined, etc.) Other duties may be assigned within the Development framework.
Minimum Requirements/Qualification
- Five years of demonstrated experience in grant/development writing, preferably in securing public contracts (City/County, State, Federal) in behavioral health and/or other social services.
- Knowledge of grant writing requirements and fund-raising strategies (corporate, private, individual).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Self-directed and organized (is comfortable working independently.
- Works effectively within a team; flexible and collaborative.
- Use of MS 365, Salesforce, and other relevant technologies/software.

Reports to: Development Director
Job Type: Full-Time
Work Schedule: Hybrid – In Office 3 to 4 days per week
FLSA Status: Exempt
Salary Range: $82,500 - $85,500 Annually (DOE)
