JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
* Community Liaison - Function as an effective liaison and intermediary between the community physicians, medical staff, and hospital departments. Identifies and works to resolve problems as they arise, including but not limited to referrals, admissions, credentialing and systems issues. Develop and foster collaboration between clinical departments, divisions, medical staff leadership, faculty, and other affiliated entities to ensure an integrated approach to providing services and fulfilling the medical center's clinical, research, and educational goals and objectives. Serve as Community Representative on the Medical Executive Committee. Develops and maintains a favorable relationship with community physicians.
* Medical Management - Provide leadership to the medical staff in areas of strategic planning, strategy execution and implementation of care management programs. Provide medical expertise with respect to planning and establishing goals and policies to improve medical management. Continuously assess and improve the performance of care and services provided. Direct quality assessment and improvement functions; design and implement programs, which evaluate the efficacy of treatment.
* Regulatory Compliance - Maintain a working knowledge of applicable National, State, and local laws and regulations, as well as, Joint Commission, NCQA and other regulatory requirements that relate to the medical staff. Maintain a working knowledge of Medical Staff Bylaws, Rules, and Regulations as well as hospital policies.
* Continuous Improvement - Working with the medical leadership of the hospital, serve as a resource to help reduce costs, enhance revenues, and achieve utilization and quality goals and objectives. Support internal controls to safeguard the financial, information and human resources of Cincinnati Children's. Understands, adheres to and models Core Standards as defined organizationally and specifically within the department/unit.
* Operational Leadership - Participate in the self-governance of the medical staff's activities and governing body as a member of the Medical Executive Committee.
* Patient Care - Provide safe, effective and compassionate patient care commensurate with the level of advancement and clinical specialty. Make significant contributions to clinical service as evidenced by expertise in clinical care. Develop and maintain local and regional recognition by peers and patients as an authority in the field. Develop a wide local and regional referral base for subspecialist. Develop clinical skills or programs that are local or regionally distinctive. Applies clinical skills that are clinically sound, effective and achieve exceptional patient outcomes. Provides consultative services to other physicians and clinical providers within the medical center to establish a coordinated care plan for each patient.
