What the role entails:
The Developmental Specialist (DS) design and implement innovative programs to meet the needs of people who experience disabilities. The DS ensures that program development, implementation, and monitoring occur on an on-going basis for each participant and in compliance with accreditation, licensing, and regulatory entities. The DS establishes and maintains effective working relationships with other community support providers to coordinate each case and the intake process from the initial referral to the acceptance of any individual into the program. The DS oversees the composition of individualized programs to ensure all participants are afforded the opportunity to reach their maximum level of achievement.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant area of study OR Bachelor's degree and successful completion of designated competency examination. Special Education, Early Childhood Special Education, Speech and Language Pathology, Applied Behavioral Analysis, Phycology, Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Social Work, or Therapeutic Recreation.
- Experience in the development of person-centered plan and programs
- Strongly Proficient in MS Office applications
- Valid driver's license/ vehicle insurance and a good driving record
