What You Will Be Doing

We are looking for a Device Testing Engineer 1 to join our team. You will be responsible for ensuring that all Vortex devices meet stringent quality and performance standards. The ideal candidate will have experience in hardware and software testing, troubleshooting, and performance optimization for various devices. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

• Design, implement, and execute device testing plans for both hardware and software components.
• Conduct functional, regression, performance, and stress testing on all Vortex devices such as smartphones, tablets, wearables, IoT device.
• Develop and maintain automated test scripts and testing tools.
• Document test cases, procedures, and results, and prepare detailed reports for cross-functional teams.
• Collaborate with product design, development, and quality assurance teams to identify and resolve device-related issues.
• Analyze testing results to identify product weaknesses and recommend improvements.
• Stay up-to-date with industry best practices, emerging technologies, and testing methodologies.

How You Qualify

The ideal candidate must display excellent written and oral skills with demonstrated interpersonal and organizational abilities. A candidate for this position must be able to work in a varied, fast-paced environment and enjoy an entrepreneurially spirited organization that is unencumbered by lengthy bureaucratic process. Flexibility, agility, and a good sense of humor is a must!

Additional qualifications requirements include:

• Bachelor’s degree preferred in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
• 1-3 years of experience in device testing, preferably within a device manufacturing environment.
• Strong knowledge of testing methodologies, including manual and automated testing.
• Hands-on experience with tools such as, JIRA, Appium, Selenium or equivalent testing platforms.
• Preferred Experience in scripting languages such as Python, Java, or shell scripting.
• Familiarity with industry standards and certifications (e.g., FCC, CE) is a plus.
• Excellent problem-solving skills, with an ability to troubleshoot complex device issues.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience in testing wireless communication protocols (e.g., Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, LTE, 5G).
• Knowledge of embedded systems and microcontroller testing.
• Familiarity with environmental testing (e.g., temperature, humidity, vibration).
