We have partnered with an integrated SaaS solution company in the risk andinsurance industry in the Chicago, IL area to provide them with a Systems /Network Engineer (Remote).• Please review the below description and let us know if you are interested.Our client has an immediate opening for a DevOps Engineer ( Systems / Network )• The work will encompass day-to-day systems operations duties implementing,monitoring, fixing information systems, and providing support for the departmentand organization’s clients.• Responsibilities of the DevOps Engineer ( Systems / Network )• Identify, diagnose and correct issues related to the operating systems,software, utilities, AWS environment and ancillary services via Ansibleautomation.• Address and resolve critical system issues as needed on a 24X7 basis includingnotification, escalation and coordination across the organization• Diagnose and troubleshoot network issues using Wireshark.• Support, maintain, and enhance day-today information systems andinfrastructure, through infrastructure as code.• Design, develop, test, and document new automated solutions to improve currentand new processes.• Reduce 3rd Party and Custom application Build, Deployment, and Configurationcomplexity through automated solutions• Research new technologies and best practices to create and improve new orexisting processes• Perform daily system monitoring, verify the integrity, availability andperformance of the infrastructure environment, server resources, systems and keyprocesses, review system and application logs, and verify completion ofscheduled jobs.• Deploy and maintain operating system software and third-party softwareutilities, systems and services within company operational guidelines.• Conduct system analysis, configuration management and develop improvements forsystem performance, availability and reliability.• Implement and maintain appropriate levels of system security.• Manage system backup / disaster recovery procedures; participate in disasterrecovery efforts including regular testing.• Manage and address incident tickets and change requests within pre-definedservice level agreements.• Regularly communicate status of incidents and requests with customers and keystakeholders as dictated by the severity and circumstances of the incident.• Maintain updated documentation of all in-¬progress and completed projects inappropriate systems as required by team management.• Create and maintain system documentation for organizational technologies,including installation, configuration, and appropriate troubleshooting steps.• Requirements of the Systems / Network Engineer:• Bachelor’s Degree in CS or a CS/IT related discipline is preferred, with threeyears of related professional experience or equivalent combination of education• Proficiency in Powershell is a must• Network: troubleshooting with Wireshark, subnetting• Firewall: Fortinet or other firewall management• Infrastructure: AWS Cloud, NGINX, Sophos UTM, Ansible (or equivalent likeSaltstack, Chef or Puppet)• Monitoring: Datadog, New Relic• Services: IIS, MSSQL, Active Directory & Group policy management• Ability to code and script - emphatic with incremental development, testingand deployments.• Experience with a variety of operating systems and technologies to support adiverse environment.• Windows 2019• Strong grasp of automation tools• Design, document, and implement an automated unit-testing for a real-timeconfiguration management system.• Benefits of the Systems / Network Engineer:• Medical Insurance• Dental Insurance• Life Insurance• 401 (k) Matching
