Position Summary:
The DevOps Manager is responsible for leading and coaching DevOps / Platform Engineers in the maintenance, uptime, monitoring, and automation of our applications and systems. You will design and deliver software to improve availability, performance, and efficiency, your goal will be eliminating manual tasks, evaluating designs, and providing feedback to internal and external teams on how to build the most robust software platforms possible. You will be responsible supporting enterprise application and help to designing cloud native applications.
Essential Functions:
- Deploy microservices using infrastructure as code (IaC) in a CI/CD Code Pipeline environment by scripting, testing, and creating backups to enable independent development, deployment, and scalability of the platform which will also include technical configuration of the system to ensure there are no issues with deployment.
- Train, mentor and assist other team members in DevOps & Platform Engineering Best Practices. Work with team to define measurable and meaningful KPIs for DevOps Engineers to strive to and follow.
- Manage automated build processes using software development platforms (Azure DevOps, GitHub, Jenkins, and AWS CodeBuild) to enable quick, efficient, correct, and flexible deployments.
- Automate, deploy, and test by leveraging webhooks and status checks from software development platforms (Azure, GCP, AWS CodeDeploy, AWS CodePipeline, GitHub, Jira, and Postman).
- Configure and create automated real-time application monitoring solutions that include database log reviews, key performance indicators of system performance, and other alerts to maintain availability and security of database systems.
- Champion ChatOps workflows using real-time communication tools (like Slack) and perform system administration tasks including changes to user permissions, system configurations, and tuning applications and processes in support and partnership with the development team.
Required Qualifications:
- BA/BS Degree (4-year) in a related field
- 6-8 years related work experience.
- Experience in cloud-based DevOps and managing a mid-size globally distributed team.
- Experience with writing infrastructure as code (IaC) (Terraform, Azure ARM, CloudFormation, Pulumi)
- Experience in at least one programming language (JavaScript, Ruby, Python, PHP, C#)
- Experience with a unified, real-time monitoring and analytics platform, such as Azure Log Analytics, Google StackDriver / Operations Suite, New Relic, Splunk or Datadog
- Experience using a CI/CD tool like CircleCI, Jenkins, Azure DevOps, or AWS CodePipeline
- Experience defining and configuring Azure cloud services such as Traffic Managers, Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), Azure Functions, Azure Logic Apps, Azure Container Registry (ACR), Azure Front Door, Azure Application Insights, Azure Key Vault, Load balancers, VNets, Azure Event Hub preferred.
- Experience automating the deployment for a microservices platform preferred.
- Experience working on a project that uses a JavaScript Framework (Ember.js, Vue.js, React, Angular) preferred.
- Experience configuring infrastructure and application alerts, alarms, and notifications preferred.
- Experience solving application monitoring challenges through the use of continuous synthetic transactions preferred.
- Results driven with reliable follow through preferred.

- Understanding of DevOps fundamentals such as security, scalability, and reliability
- Ability to design and create cloud-based software defined networking.
- Familiarity with fault tolerant infrastructure designs including the use of regions and availability zones.
- Familiarity with Kubernetes setup, configuration, and deployment
- Proficiency in a scripting language such as Bash or PowerShell
- Understanding of Microsoft SQL or MySQL
- Familiar with an Agile work environment
- Great verbal and written communication skills
- Strong analytical, decision-making, interpersonal, and conflict resolution skills
- Results driven with reliable follow through.
Pay Scale: $130,955-$178,575
