Position Responsibilities:
- Installing, configuring, administering, tuning, and troubleshooting Linux based applications.
- Ensure proper monitoring of all environment URLs for availability. Be able to identify monitoring gaps.
- Ensure proper escalation and notification for each project.
- Troubleshoot and resolve Client Engagement Support issues.
- Ability to create and document processes ranging from sever creation to proper response to alerts.
- Handle day to day support activities that pop up and must be comfortable in working on production support incidents on a live call with several other support teams, making recommendations, escalating when necessary.
- Create/manage existing shell scripting in the application.
- Build/Administer/Manage/Configure applications in linux environment using tools like puppet/fabric/chef
Qualifications:
- 7+ years of prior work experience in IT, including recent 3+ years of work experience with CentOS/RHEL in an enterprise (100+ server) environment.
- Extensive experience in installing, configuring, administering, tuning, and troubleshooting complex Linux based application and middleware installations
- Extensive 24/7 Level 2 Support Experience in troubleshooting Production environments
- Ability to respond to critical issues, manage critical trouble tickets and drive towards permanent resolutions.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills are a must.
- Experience with automation tools (Puppet, Chef, fabric)
Plus:
- Experience in migrating applications from development/test environments to production including customization.
- Active participation in infrastructure architecture, such as hardware sizing, effort estimation and security.
- Experience with complex Linux/Windows based environments. Secondary skill sets should focus on Unix/Linux based environments
