DEXA Technician - Obstetrics and Gynecology

Location: Mission Viejo, CA

Virtus Healthcare Staffing is seeking a dedicated DEXA Technician to join our partner hospital's Obstetrics and Gynecology department in Mission Viejo, CA. This role involves performing bone density scans (DEXA scans) to assess patients' bone health and contribute to the diagnosis and management of osteoporosis and other related conditions.

Responsibilities:

• Perform DEXA scans according to physician orders and established protocols.
• Preparing patients for scans, explaining the procedure, positioning them correctly, and ensuring their comfort and safety.
• Operate DEXA scanner and related equipment, ensuring optimal image quality and minimizing radiation exposure.
• Analyze and interpret scan results, providing accurate data for physician review.
• Maintain accurate patient records and documentation.
• Adhere to radiation safety protocols and regulations.
• Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive patient care.

Required Qualifications:

• Education/Training:
  • Graduate of a Bone Densitometry Program OR
  • Graduate of a Radiology Program (CRT).
• Licensure/Certification:
  • Upon hire: California Radiologic Technologist OR California Limited Permit X-Ray Technician Bone Densitometry Permit.
  • Upon hire: National Registered Technologist - Radiography (ARRT) OR National Registered Technologist - Bone Densitometry (ARRT).

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience: 2 years of experience as a DEXA Technician.
