Essential Duties and Responsibilities

These duties and responsibilities described below represent the general tasks performed on a daily basis; other tasks may be assigned.

• Establish daily work assignments for technologists
• Perform visual preventative safety inspections and report dangerous department equipment conditions to appropriate personnel
• Perform annual equipment inspections and make correction as dictated by JCAHO
• Utilize all assigned functions of the Radiology Information Computer System (RICS)
• Provide portable x-ray service to all areas of the hospital
• Reviews images to ensure good quality and if necessary works with technologists to improve image quality
• Confirm patient identification prior to procedure by verbal confirmation on outpatients and identification band on in-patients
• Coordinate apron/glove inspection as required by JCAHO and Radiation
• Coordinate Radiologist clinical needs such as:

• IV infiltrates, Adverse Drug Reactions, codes and other incident reports as well as any other issues that need resolving
• Assist in developing CQI Indicators
• Assists Operations Manager in monitoring stock levels and order supplies as needed staying within the established expense budget

Education and Experience

Minimum Required Education: Successful completion of a Radiologic Technology program

Experience: 5+ years’ experience as a Radiology Technician with knowledge and training in Diagnostic Radiology

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

Applicant must be ARRT registered and BLS certified.
