Schedule: This full-time mechanic position requires a flexible schedule to meet business needs. Standard hours apply with occasional overtime based on workload and deadlines.
YOUR DAY AS A DIESEL FLEET MECHANIC
As a Diesel Fleet Mechanic, you will be assessing and performing routine and preventative maintenance on our fleet of semi-trucks. This will involve diagnosing issues, repairing diesel-powered vehicles, and ensuring all tasks are documented thoroughly. Throughout your tasks, you will manage your inventory of tools and parts, keeping everything organized and in top condition. You will collaborate with other technicians, sharing your expertise to help them grow and ensuring that all preventive maintenance procedures are executed. In addition, you'll maintain safety standards, clean and organize the shop, and stay updated with the latest industry knowledge through ongoing training. Your role will also include using company vehicles as needed and addressing any other duties assigned by management.
REQUIREMENTS FOR A DIESEL FLEET MECHANIC
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- 3+ years of experience in a similar role in a similar industry, with a strong mechanical background
- Commercial driver's license and a clean driving record
- Certification to conduct annual inspections and brake adjustments or ability to become certified following federal guidelines
- Completion of a vocational/technical school program or apprenticeship in diesel repair or related field, preferred
- Ability to meet physical requirements of this position
