Job Details:
- As a Fleet Services Foreman, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing and coordinating the day-to-day operations within a workshop.
- Your primary responsibility will be to ensure efficient workflow, quality output, and a safe working environment.
- The Shop Foreman will be a hands-on leader, managing a team of skilled technicians and workers, while collaborating with other departments to achieve organizational goals.
Responsibilities:
- Manage all aspects of the shop operations.
- Plan, organize, and prioritize daily tasks to ensure the timely completion of projects and orders.
- Ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
- Uphold and enforce safety protocols and regulations within the workshop.
- Conduct regular inspections to ensure quality control standards are met.
- Act as a liaison between the shop and upper management, relaying information about production status, challenges, and resource needs.
- Collaborate with operations management to develop project plans and budgets.
- Monitor and manage inventory levels to ensure that necessary materials and supplies are readily available.
- Lead and supervise a team of technicians and workers, providing guidance, support, and direction.
- Work on equipment when available or necessary.
- Maintain accurate records of work orders, materials used, and project progress.
- Coordinate with other departments to align PM/repair schedules with overall business objectives for both tractors and trailers.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement measures to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
- Stay informed about industry trends, technological advancements, and best practices.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in business or related field preferred.
- Other combinations of experience and education that meet the minimum requirements may be substituted.
- Five to seven years of experience or more preferred
- Minimum 4 years management experience
- Proven experience as a Shop Supervisor or similar role in the diesel mechanic field.
- Experience in TMT, PeopleNet and LYTX preferred.
- Strong knowledge of diesel technology.
- Proficient in mechanical analysis/software.
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Knowledge of budgeting and cost control principles.
- Familiarity with quality control standards and procedures.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Knowledge of DOT laws/regulations.
- Class A License preferred.
- Knowledge of 406 fuel tankers preferred .
