Diesel Mechanic - $5000 Bonus - Waste Connections

**Immediate Opening: Diesel Mechanic at LeMay Pierce County Refuse** We have an immediate opening for a **Diesel Mechanic** to join our team working on our fleet of garbage trucks at LeMay Pierce County Refuse in Frederickson, WA, a Waste Connections Company. We encourage you to apply if you're looking for secure and steady employment! **Pay and Schedule:** + Hourly pay: **$35.00 - $36.00** plus a **$1.50/hr shift differential** + Shift: **Monday - Friday, 2:30 PM - 11 PM** + **$5,000 Stay-On Bonus** **Key Responsibilities:** + Perform repairs and preventive maintenance services. + Inspect, diagnose, and repair electrical, hydraulic, suspension, brake, and air systems on vehicles and equipment. + Use vehicle computer electronics systems to interpret failure modes and initiate repairs. + Conduct safety checks on vehicles and equipment. (Welding experience is a plus.) + Complete necessary paperwork using fleet maintenance software to document repairs, parts usage, and repair times. + Review and address repairs noted on Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports. + Perform additional maintenance-related work as needed. + Maintain a clean and safe work area, following corporate and OSHA standards. + Adhere to established safety procedures in all tasks. + Effectively communicate repair needs and tasks. **Ideal Candidate Qualifications:** + At least **one year of experience** in heavy truck equipment maintenance and repair or completion of an accredited vocational-technical school program (preferred). + **CDL preferred** (ideally obtained within the first 90 days of employment). + Personal tools are required. + Proficient in diagnosing and repairing vehicles and equipment. + Ability to read and understand service and technical information.
