Diesel Mechanic/ Trailer Technician - Gpac

About the Job
Gpac is currently partnering with a truck dealer who both works on and sells semi-trucks. This company provides a full-service shop performing work ranging from alignments, to body work, mechanic work, frame work, etc. Right now, they are in need of an experienced Trailer Technician.
Trailer Technician Responsibilities:
- Performs basic diagnostics and both major and minor repairs
- Performs air and electrical system repairs
- Diagnose and provide recommendations on repairs
- Efficient worker able to deliver quality repairs in a timely fashion.
- Maintains a clean work area and accurately records work progress and hours of all work performed.
- Follows all safety rules and regulations in performing work assignments.
- Use all required Safety Equipment.
- Perform Inspections on Trucks per Instruction and determine if additional safety or service work is needed.
- Must have own tools.
- Perform work efficiently and accurately.
- Communicate with Parts Department for needed parts.
- Document work performed daily via labor tickets.
Trailer Technician Qualifications:
- 3-5 years mechanical background in heavy-duty trucking industry or similar
- Ability to perform basic repairs and required maintenance using special tools and equipment
- Proficient knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems
- Ability to operate vehicles and equipment used for diagnostic purposes.
- Proficient oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to lift at least 100 lbs.
- High School Diploma or equivalent experience required
- A valid driver’s license with a clean driving record is required.
- Cummins or Navistar Certifications are preferred.
- Welding and Fabrication Experience Highly Preferred.
