Diesel Mechanic/ Trailer Technician - Gpac

Gpac is currently partnering with a truck dealer who both works on and sells semi-trucks. This company provides a full-service shop performing work ranging from alignments, to body work, mechanic work, frame work, etc. Right now, they are in need of an experienced Trailer Technician.

Trailer Technician Responsibilities:

• Performs basic diagnostics and both major and minor repairs
• Performs air and electrical system repairs
• Diagnose and provide recommendations on repairs
• Efficient worker able to deliver quality repairs in a timely fashion.
• Maintains a clean work area and accurately records work progress and hours of all work performed.
• Follows all safety rules and regulations in performing work assignments.
• Use all required Safety Equipment.
• Perform Inspections on Trucks per Instruction and determine if additional safety or service work is needed.
• Must have own tools.
• Perform work efficiently and accurately.
• Communicate with Parts Department for needed parts.
• Document work performed daily via labor tickets.

Trailer Technician Qualifications: 

• 3-5 years mechanical background in heavy-duty trucking industry or similar
• Ability to perform basic repairs and required maintenance using special tools and equipment
• Proficient knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems
• Ability to operate vehicles and equipment used for diagnostic purposes.
• Proficient oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to lift at least 100 lbs.
• High School Diploma or equivalent experience required
• A valid driver’s license with a clean driving record is required.
• Cummins or Navistar Certifications are preferred.
• Welding and Fabrication Experience Highly Preferred.
