Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled diesel mechanic to join our team at a heavy equipment company located in Miami, Florida. As a diesel mechanic, you will be responsible for the maintenance and repair of diesel engines and heavy equipment, ensuring they are in good working order and safe for operation.
Responsibilities:
- Diagnose and troubleshoot diesel engine and heavy equipment issues
- Perform routine maintenance, including oil changes, filter replacements, and tune-ups
- Repair or replace defective parts, such as transmissions, brakes, and electrical systems
- Use diagnostic tools, such as computerized diagnostic equipment, to identify issues
- Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repairs performed
- Adhere to safety protocols and standards at all times
- Collaborate with other members of the maintenance team to ensure equipment is repaired and maintained in a timely manner
- Follow all company policies and procedures
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Technical school degree or certification in diesel mechanics strongly preferred
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as a diesel mechanic
- Strong mechanical and troubleshooting skills
- Knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulic systems, and electrical systems
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team
- Must be able to pass a drug test and background check
- Must have own tools
