About the Job
Overview: We're looking for a qualified Diesel Technician (with a current CDL A) to work within a team of technicians and test engineers to prepare, develop, instrument, and perform a variety of complete vehicle tests with prototype diesel vehicles. Responsibilities include mechanical labor, prototype development, installation and troubleshooting of instrumentation and various sensors, setup and maintenance of test rigs, and performing tests under the direction of a test engineer, which will include driving and travel.
Job Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with technicians and test engineers to conduct complete vehicle tests.
- Perform mechanical labor, assist in prototype development, and instrumentation installation on diesel test vehicles.
- Troubleshoot and maintain instrumentation and sensors.
- Set up and maintain test rigs for vehicle testing along with data acquisition.
- Execute physical tests on test objects by driving and following test cases under the direction of a test engineer.
- Travel as required for testing purposes.
Requirements:
- Basic understanding of heavy truck and trailer systems and functions.
- Good understanding of A/C systems; basic knowledge of AC/DC electrical systems.
- Ability to identify different types of instrumentation, understand their applications, and functions.
- Proficient in troubleshooting both technical and mechanical problems.
- High school diploma or associate degree in Electronic/Engineering Technologies/Diesel Technician Studies
- Minimum 3 years of experience in diesel truck servicing or certification from a Diesel Technician program.
- Basic PC skills, including Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Must possess and maintain a Class A CDL along with a DOT Medical Card.
- Willingness to travel.

Physical and Environmental Requirements:
- Able to lift 50 lbs.
- Ability to bend, twist, and squat.
- Quick reaction during dynamic driving tests.
- Prolonged periods of standing and sitting.
- Capability to drive for up to 8 hours a day.
- Must pass a drug screen as part of this safety-sensitive position.
