Job Title: Diesel Truck Mechanic with VA State Inspection License
Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Diesel Truck Mechanic with a valid Virginia State Inspection License to join our team at The Truck Shop. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in diesel engine repair, maintenance, and diagnostics, along with expertise in performing state inspections for commercial vehicles. This position requires attention to detail, excellent problem-solving abilities, and a commitment to ensuring the safety and reliability of our fleet of diesel trucks.
Responsibilities:
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on diesel engines, including but not limited to engine overhauls, brake repairs, transmission work, and electrical system diagnostics.
- Conduct thorough inspections of diesel trucks to identify and diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues.
- Utilize diagnostic equipment and tools to troubleshoot and repair diesel engine components and systems.
- Perform Virginia state inspections on commercial vehicles in compliance with state regulations.
- Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repair work performed, including inspection reports and service records.
- Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors regarding the status of repairs, parts needed, and estimated completion times.
- Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and others.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Completion of a diesel mechanic training program or equivalent work experience.
- Valid Virginia State Inspection License for commercial vehicles.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience working as a diesel truck mechanic.
- Strong knowledge of diesel engine systems, components, and repair techniques.
- Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and equipment.
- Ability to interpret technical manuals, diagrams, and schematics.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail and precision in workmanship.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Willingness to participate in ongoing training and professional development.
