Pine Knoll Nursing and Rehab is seeking qualified individuals to join the Family in our Dietary Kitchen as Dietary Aides.
Positions Available:
Day Shift and Evening shift, full time and part time
You MUST be able to work every other weekend.
- Assist in all dietary department functions, including preparing and pre-portioning food, such as beverages, salads, desserts, and other items assigned by the supervisor, for therapeutic diets according to the planned menu.
- Handle food using proper food handling and food safety techniques according to established policies and regulations
- Ensure the proper quantity of food is pre-portioned as directed.
- Pre-portion and distribute food according to the planned menu, the resident's food preferences, and diet order.
- Ensure the proper temperature of food during preparation and distribution.
- Prepares and serves food promptly.
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment.
- Ensure meals and snacks are sent from the kitchen or serving area according to established time schedules.
- Labels, dates, and stores food properly according to established policies.
- Wash dishes, utensils, etc., according to established policies.
- Store dishes, pots, utensils, etc., in the proper location to prevent contamination and ensure items are readily available for the next meal.
- Assist in receiving, storing, and verifying invoices for incoming food and supplies as indicated by the supervisor.
Qualifications
- Experience working in a dietary department in a hospital or skilled nursing facility environment preferred.
- Ability to sit, stand, bend, lift and move intermittently during work hours.
- Maintain effective working relationships with all levels of personnel.
- Relate and work well with all disabled and elderly residents and
- Interact professionally and respectfully with residents, family members, co-workers, and supervisors.
- SERV Safe Certification is a plus
