We are searching for a Dietary Cook to join our community that is resident and family focused, a team builder, and excited about the opportunity to assist in building a facility culture. The primary purpose of your job position is to provide assistance in all food functions as instructed and in accordance with established food policies and procedures.
The primary purpose of your job position is to prepare food in accordance with current applicable federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations with our established policies and procedures, and as may be direct by the Director of Dining Services to ensure that quality food service is provided at all times. You are responsible for preparing food in accordance with established menus, recipes, and sanitary standards. You will oversee the work of other dietary personnel assisting with food service preparation, as well as assuming other responsibilities in the absence of the Director of Dining Services.
Major Responsibilities:
- Prepare or direct the preparation of all food served in the facility using standardized recipes.
- Adhere to menus and portion control standards, including those for special diets when preparing and serving meals.
- Assist with the purchase and inventory of food supply.
- Prepare and serve bedtime snacks, according to the established menu.
- Prepare and serve substitute foods to residents who refuse foods served.
Specific Requirements:
- Must be able to cook a variety of foods in large quantities.
- Must be knowledgeable of food procedures.
- Must be able to follow oral and written instructions.
- Must be punctual and dependable.
- Must maintain the care and use of supplies, equipment, the appearance of work areas, and perform regular inspections of food service areas for sanitation, order, safety, and proper performance of assigned duties.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED equivalent (required)
- Some experience with quantity food preparation (preferred)
