About the Job
Essential duties include:
• Complete all food & supply orders for the Dietary Department.
• Maintain all dietary records, including food/supply orders, schedules, diet changes (pink slips), meal tracking, snack lists, temperature logs, dish machine & pot and pan logs, etc.
• Daily checks of the menus, making sure all food items that are needed for the following day are available.
• Assist the Registered Dietitian in writing or revising dietary policies & procedures and menu planning.
• Interview clients to incorporate their food preferences into menu planning
• Encourage adequate food & fluid intake of all clients. Notify nursing staff if there are concerns with the food or fluid intake of a client.
• Attend treatment plan meetings along with interdisciplinary team (IDT), including clients.
• Conduct educational groups with clients regarding healthy living and nutrition. Maintain records of lesson plans and client attendance at these groups.
• Review and approve payroll bi-weekly for Dietary Department.
• Provide leadership, education (in-services), support and guidance to all dietary employees to ensure food quality standards, food safety guidelines and customer service expectations are met.
Qualifications
• Must be free of a criminal background that is a Disqualifying Offense as defined by the Illinois Department of Public Health
• Must possess a High School Diploma or Equivalent
• Basic computer skills and general knowledge and understanding of nutrition required
• Current City & State Food Service/Sanitation Certificate required.
• Certified Dietary Manager Course (CDM)
