Position Description:
As a Dietitian at CoreLife you will work with patients on a daily basis creating solutions for weight loss. The goal is to help maintain a high quality of care by overseeing all aspects of the patient’s nutrition and diet.
Major Areas of Responsibility:
- Evaluate nutritional histories of patients.
- Work within a multidisciplinary clinical team.
- Nutrition examinations and other appropriate diagnostic procedures.
- Design and provide a nutritional care plan individualized to each patient.
- Accurately notates and updates patient records.
- Educate patients on base concepts of nutritional science and weight maintenance.
- Help to maintain a high quality of care by overseeing all aspects of the patient’s nutrition and diet through effective counseling.
Specific Responsibilities:
- Evaluate patients by taking into account patient’s weight, diet, medical, exercise, social, and family histories when making evaluations and establishing baseline histories of patients for future care.
- Collaborate with practitioners of other disciplines on a daily basis to provide comprehensive specific care to patients without conflicting recommendations.
- Evaluate and be able to explain to patients’ results of body composition analysis and metabolic testing through indirect calorimetry.
- Design and provide care plans that are individualized to meet the patient’s needs, taking into account diagnoses, current lifestyle, limitations, responsibilities, and patient’s goals.
- Document on the content of each counseling session to a level of complexity that another member of the care team can read the note and pick up where the RD left off as seamlessly as possible.
- Evaluate patient's current level of nutritional understanding and actively work to improve patient competence and confidence in nutrition, weight, and lifestyle management.
- Help to maintain a high quality of care by overseeing all aspects of the patient’s nutrition and diet through effective counseling.
- Utilize motivational interviewing techniques to inspire patients to continue to take steps towards better health through making better choices and working to hold themselves accountable.
Education:
Completed Bachelor’s Degree or an advanced degree from an accredited institution with a major in Foods and Nutrition including completion of an accredited Dietetic Internship with eligibility to take the Registered Dietitian examination with the Commission on Dietetics Registration
Licensure/Certification/Affiliation:
- Candidates must be Registered by the Commission on Dietetic Registration and Licensed by the appropriate state
- Current CPR

- General knowledge of nutrient analysis, word processing, spreadsheet, and professional presentation software.
- Flexibility to adapt to changes in medical protocols and policy.

Work Environment:
This job operates in a professional medical office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms.
