Responsibilities
Provide medical nutrition therapy and evaluates effectiveness of treatments.
+ Assess patients for nutritional status. Provide interventions/treatments including diet therapy, counseling or specialized nutrition supplements.
+ Collaborate with physicians, nursing, and ancillary services such as speech pathology or physical therapy.
+ Monitor tolerance and effectiveness of nutritional regimen and recommends therapy adjustments as necessary. Provide medical nutrition therapy and evaluates effectiveness of treatments.
+ Provide nutrition information for the community that may include public speaking, news releases and other forms of publications.
+ Research and take initiatives to resolve nutrition care related complaints and problems.
+ Assist in monitoring meals including intake, diet compliance, and tray accuracy. Maintain sanitation of food preparation area(s) through planned and unannounced inspections.
Requirements
Licensure / Certification / Registration:
+ One or more of the following required:
+ Dietitian/Nutritionist credentialed from the Commission on Dietetic Registration and from the Indiana Dietitians Certification Board obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
+ Dietitian/Nutritionist credentialed from the Indiana Dietitians Certification Board and from the Commission on Dietetic Registration obtained within 12 Months (1 year) of hire date or job transfer date.
+ Advanced Life Support preferred. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
+ BLS Provider preferred. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
+ Educator specializing in Diabetes Management preferred.
Education:
+ High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
