Job Description
The Digital Banking Specialist is responsible for servicing customers via interactive technological channels. He or she will be responsible for online deposit account opening, online consumer loan applications, and customer service and support for all bank products. The Digital Banking Specialist recognizes complex product and financial services opportunities as well as refers customers to Investment Services, the Mortgage Department, and commercial banking to help clients achieve their financial goals and the team to achieve its business goals and expand existing relationships. He or she provides excellent customer service and assistance to all customers and performs a variety of functions related to reviewing and filing documents, requesting address changes or loan maintenance as needed, and reviewing loan applications to verify completeness.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- Must have at least 36-48 months of experience as a personal banker or in a similar position
- Knowledge of bank operations, policies, and procedures required
- Professional appearance, dress, and attitude
- Able to operate related computer applications and business equipment, including computer terminal, telephone, and scanner
Responsibilities
- Performs file maintenance and account changes as needed, such as address changes, etc., and stays up to date on pending documentation, such as verifying accounts opened by other branch personnel
- Seeks opportunities to refer products and services for increased business to the Bank
- Enters loan information into automated software approval systems
- Assists in servicing loans by processing such items as payments, payoffs, problem loan workout arrangements, loan draws, address changes, payment extensions, collateral releases, and payment due date changes
- Advises customers of loan approval or denial and explains loan denials precisely and clearly to customers
- Presents and explains Bank services and products to customers via video and other technological channels to assist them in meeting their financial needs, opens and closes deposit accounts by obtaining information from the customer and entering into the computer system, and orders checks and debit cards for customer accounts
- Interviews, takes applications, gathers information, and processes preliminary documentation on loan requests via technological channels
- Analyzes and evaluates loan requests, evaluates and verifies loan applications and credit criteria, computes debt ratios, verifies employment and income, determines value of collateral, notifies applicants of loan decisions, and requests additional information if required
- Processes loan closings to ensure all necessary loan documents are explained, signatures are captured, and disclosures are electronically provided
- Completes maintenance related to resetting online banking passwords as requested and may also change or assign user codes
- Represents the Bank in a courteous and professional manner
- Ensures that customers' requests and questions are promptly resolved
- Maintains privacy of customer account information
- Helps other area personnel as required
- Keeps management informed of area activities and any significant problems or concerns
