Client Overview:

Our client is one of the largest transit agencies in southwestern Pennsylvania. They provide public transportation to the Pittsburgh area with a fleet of 700 buses, light rail, inclines, and paratransit. Currently, they are looking to add a Digital Communications Specialist to their team.

Salary/Hourly Rate:

$25/hr

Position Overview:

The Digital Communications Specialist will work within the Public Relations department to create and post items on social media platforms. The schedule is as follows: Monday through Thursday from 8:00 am – 4:30 pm and Friday from 8:00 am – 4:00 pm.

Responsibilities of the Digital Communications Specialist:

Post items on social media platforms, including Facebook, X (Twitter), and LinkedIn.
Write content for social media and websites for organizations, businesses, government, and similar entities.
Produce basic social media graphics using Canva or similar programs.

Qualifications for the Digital Communications Specialist:

Minimum of two (2) years of experience in corporate/government communications or website content design and internet publishing experience in corporate communications, public relations/advertising agency, social media, or related environment.
Ability to manage time and workload effectively, which includes planning, organizing, and prioritizing with attention to detail.
Effective and professional communication and organizational skills.
Demonstrated ability in the use of Microsoft Windows, Word, and PowerPoint.

Education Requirements:

High school diploma or GED is required.
Associate’s degree in Public Relations, Communications, Journalism, Marketing, or a related field from an accredited college or university is preferred.
Related experience may be substituted for education on a year-for-year basis.
