Location: Canton, MA
Pay Range: up to $27.50 per hour depending upon experience and qualifications
The Digital Marketing and Graphic Design Specialist will play a key role in contributing creative design and marketing strategy for all aspects of the organization including events, fundraising campaigns, online and print communication initiatives, and general messaging. This position will also maintain a comprehensive social media strategy by reviewing analytics to maximize ROI, increase visibility, membership, and traffic across all Salvation Army channels by using Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Instagram, as well as provide the necessary guidance for social media activities. In addition, the Digital Marketing and Graphic Design Specialist is responsible for the development and maintenance of the website and custom donation pages. The overall goal for this position is to advance The Salvation Army’s mission by increasing awareness and fundraising, and by providing design support to the Advancement Department.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Graphic Design, Communications or related field required
- Minimum five to seven years of experience in a professional work environment, preferably a non-profit organization
- Experience with constituent communication and stewardship through written communication and events implementation; and overall program strategy and implementation.
- Experience with writing/production of communication, solicitation, and marketing collateral; implementation of successful fund and awareness raising programs
- Experience working to create, produce and distribute digital marketing materials, solicitations, and other communications.
- Experience in website content management, social media, and graphic design.
- Experience in working with fundraising and constituent management databases.
- Energetic, organized, detail-oriented team-oriented and possess excellent people skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with experience in writing donor solicitations, promotional materials such as newsletters, e-solicitations, web pages, or brochures
- Demonstrates computer skills in major MS office products such as Word, Excel and Outlook as well as additional marketing software. Use of database software and Photoshop or another illustrator software a plus.
- Experience working collaboratively to create, produce and distribute marketing materials, solicitations, and other communications.
- Be flexible to accommodate unpredictable demands and be able to maintain priorities while managing multiple projects and a large volume of responsibilities
- Ability to remain tactful and flexible under pressure
- Demonstrated ability to provide exceptional customer service and maintain a high level of confidentiality
- Experience in website content management, social media, and graphic design.
