DescriptionIdaho National Laboratory is hiring a Digital Twin and Data Frameworks Department Manager to work in our Digital Twin and Data Frameworks department
Our team works a 9x80 schedule located out of our MFC facility with every other Friday off.The department focus is on development of computational frameworks to allow digital threads connecting data acquisition, machine learning, visualization, and sensing technologies together to allow autonomous control, anomaly detection, monitoring, and predictive maintenance for energy systems
Furthermore, the department leads development of big data systems and technologies to catalog, store, curate, and stream data for AI processing at the petabyte-scale. Responsibilities Include:Manage the activities of a department or a discipline through subordinate supervisors, exempt and non-exempt staff to ensure tasks completed are both aligned with organizational goals and empowering to the employees.Responsible for single function, location, and technical discipline
Track progress and adjust plans to maximize talent deployment and development Provide guidance to your team within the latitude of established company policies.Recommend changes to policies and establish procedures that affect department or multiple disciplines through monitoring and evaluations that lead to improvement implementationResponsible for the effective operation of activities of major significance to our organization
Decisions impact others in the immediate team and influences methods and techniques.Build financials, business planning, organizational priorities, and workforce
Ensure that budgets, schedules, and performance standards are realistically set and attained.Coordinate complex research priorities with other research supervisors within the facility to ensure expected timelines are metWork with subordinate supervisors, customers, and functional peer group professionals, involving matters between sections and multiple units to build effective and collaborative teams.Receive objective-based assignments and determine resources to meet schedules and goals
Ensure that those resources are integrated in the resource-loaded facility mission schedule.Help develop overall goals and long-term goals of the department and help set the division goals.Partner with important contacts outside own area of expertise and other external partners.Present results and recommendations across departments.You will report to the Division Director.QualificationsMinimum Requirements: BS and 8 years of relevant experience, MS and 6 years of relevant experience, or PhD and 4 years of relevant experience.Acceptable degrees will be in computer science, systems engineering, information sciences, data science, geographic sciences/analytics, engineering, or related discipline and have knowledge of advanced nuclear energy systems.You will have at least three years of experience as a group lead, team lead, or principal investigator of a larger research project (~$1M/year).This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy "Q" clearance, which requires US Citizenship. Job Information: The target pay range for this position is $123,735.00-$185,631.00 annually.
