Job Summary
Director, Credit Scoring Initiatives provides strategic direction, execution and management of the Consumer and Commercial Purpose decision trees and strategies including the selection and continuous validation of scorecard models. Plays a key role in determining the effectiveness of existing credit strategies and proactively makes recommendations for enhancement. Responsible for meeting all regulatory requirements, as well as the accuracy and efficiency of decision strategies, application and portfolio level reporting, and model validation. Develops executive level credit performance reporting for the commercial, small business and consumer portfolios. Working with Line of Business, Credit and Compliance partners, Dir CSI represents the perspective of the process associated with all strategies utilizing credit scoring in its decisioning.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
* Serves as Subject Matter expert on all systems, strategies, and models used in the automated underwriting of Credits and makes proactive enhancement recommendations.
* Accountable for the design and development of strategies used to automate credit policy for new application decisions and loan pricing and for on-going risk assessment of existing lines of credit for consumer and small business loan portfolios and the credit card portfolio.
* Provides subject matter expert level opinion on the effectiveness of managed strategies and, in particular, enhanced credit card underwriting through management of the TRIAD strategies.
* Responsible for the development of the processes and for the production of multiple regulatory disclosures related to underwriting to include pending CFPB1071 requirements.
* Responsible for monitoring the performance of multiple models through model risk validation processes and procedures that ensure model predictive strength for risk segmentation and comply with all regulatory requirements.
* Defines, implements and manages the Risk Levels assigned to Consumer and SB loans used for loan loss reserve allocation. This process applies to new applications on a monthly basis, as well as refreshes that occur at the portfolio level quarterly to semi-annually.
* Responsible for interviewing, hiring and training individuals that are capable of completing the job functions required; assigning and directing work; and appraising performance. Manages to continuous improvement/strengthening of processes and procedures utilized within the department.
* Manages and directs the financial reporting process for Consumer Loan and Credit Card Higher Risk Loan as required by the FDIC and 2nd lien requirements. Provides leadership for additional critical reporting including monthly exception reporting, back-end exception performance monitoring and portfolio shifts/trends of key measurements.
* Drives process improvement initiatives on an on-going basis for various areas of the company.
* Manages vendor relationship Company-wide covering implementation and deployment of data related to deployment of key credit strategies.
* Manages the annual performance management and merit processes for direct and indirect reports. Coaches and develops team members and builds a work environment where team members are engaged and feel a positive sense of achievement about their role in the company. Works closely with Human Resources regarding employee relations, compensation, training, posting and filling vacant positions and other Human Resources related matters.
* Each team member is expected to be aware of risk within their functional area. This includes observing all policies, procedures, laws, regulations and risk limits specific to their role. Additionally, they should raise and report known or suspected violations to the appropriate Company authority in a timely fashion.
* Performs other related duties as required.

Minimum Education:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, Finance or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Minimum Experience:
Ten years of credit-related experience in banking industry including loan approval and administration, process monitoring, model management and reviewing/managing reports for executive management.
Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
* Advanced experience in credit, risk and/or background in systems configuration and model management
* Broad experience in credit policies, procedures, regulations and applicable laws
* Advanced analytical, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with a attention to detail
* Ability to effectively lead and manage a team
* Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Access, Excel and report writing tools
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills
