Position Overview
Our client, a growing PE-backed company in the Denver Metro Area, is seeking an Accounting Manager to oversee the company’s financial operations. The Accounting Manager will be responsible for managing daily accounting functions, ensuring compliance with financial regulations, and supporting the company’s growth through accurate financial reporting and process improvements. This position requires the candidate to work on-site 4 days a week.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, including general ledger maintenance, accounts payable/receivable, and payroll.
- Lead the month-end close process, ensuring accurate and timely preparation of financial statements.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and regulatory standards, maintaining strong internal controls.
- Assist with the preparation and analysis of financial reports, providing insights to senior leadership to support strategic decision-making.
- Collaborate with the finance team on budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis to align with company goals.
- Manage and mentor the accounting team, fostering a culture of high performance and continuous improvement.
- Lead the company’s financial audits, working closely with external auditors to ensure compliance and accuracy.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices to enhance accounting efficiency and accuracy.
- Ensure tax compliance by overseeing the preparation of tax filings and other statutory requirements.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as an Accounting Manager or senior accounting professional, preferably in a private equity-backed or high-growth company.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and internal controls.
- Experience managing month-end close processes, financial statements, and audits.
- Proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments and with senior leadership.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field; CPA preferred.
