This is a part-time, weekend position. The candidate will work Saturday and Sunday, Night shift.
The Community Living Instructor will provide quality psychiatric care to individuals who are experiencing a behavioral health crisis that is present to the regional Behavioral Health Crisis Center (BHCC). This care will be individualized to the specific needs of each individual served at the BHCC. This position will work under the direct supervision of the local BHCC Triage Clinician Lead. Training is centered on interventions designed to provide appropriate care for adults presenting with a variety of needs, cognitive abilities, and diagnoses.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS – JOB SPECIFIC
• Comfortable providing care to individuals experiencing behavioral health crisis
• Interact with individuals to ensure they are comfortable, having daily needs met while providing oversight for safety purposes
• Completes a minimum of 52 educational activities per year and participants in 1 hour mandatory training monthly
• Participates in Level One Medication Aid (L1MA) training and performs all L1MA activities on shift, as needed
• Provides feedback to focus on enhancing patient care to direct supervisor
• Participates in mandatory overtime (if/when needed)
• Acts as a preceptor and mentor to new employees as needed
• Participates on interdisciplinary team by providing patient information and recommendations to the Treatment Team
• Writes legibly
• Communicates appropriately with patients and co-workers
• Follows all policy and procedures while on shift
• Supports in keeping BHCC tidy and clean
• Other duties as assigned
