Job DescriptionAHRC New York City is seeking Full-Time Direct Support Professionals (DSP) for their Day Programs in All Five Boroughs. The pay rate for this position is between $17-$18 per hour depending on driving status. SCHEDULE: Monday thru Friday, 8hrs shift
Responsibilities:
- Work with participants by assisting them to learn and develop social skills, daily living skills and habits.
- Accompany participants to appointments, community outings, and other activities.
- Complete progress notes and make entries into the daily log book.
- Personal and/or Professional experience working with individuals with disabilities is preferred.
- Ability to communicate both orally and in written form in English.
- Knowledge of Home and Community Based Waiver, and the ability to keep up to date pertaining to such knowledge, and interpret same.
- Understanding of Person Centered Planning.
- Ability to establish and maintain a working relationship with program participants, families, staff and community agencies.
- High School diploma or GED is required.
